2019 Chicago Architecture Biennial

The National Public Housing Museum is proud to be an Official Curatorial Site for this year’s Chicago Architecture Biennial. The Museum hosted the major installation entitled Listed. Designed by South African artist Malose Malahlela of Keleketla! Library and Jim Duignan and Jeff Kowalkowski of Chicago’s Stockyard Institute, Listed. was located inside of the courtyard of the last remaining building of the Jane Addams Homes at 1322 West Taylor, and was featured alongside engaging public programming, including an artist talk and concert, as well as a community dinner and outdoor film screening, created by the NPHM and Mediaburn Archives.

Listed. was open to the public from September 19 through October 13 at Museum site. Tours were offered by residents of the Chicago Housing Authority’s public housing who have been trained as educators as part of the NPHM Entrepreneurship Hub’s Cultural Workforce Program.
